Our client, a multi-million pound world leading biomedical company is seeking a new Managing Director. The current Managing Director, a scientist by training, is to become the company's Chief Scientific Officer and will focus wholly on new products and R&D. Acquisitive, fast growing and highly innovative, they require a commercial leader able to create and deliver a compelling strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the business strategy, and represent the business in strategic growth opportunities both organically and by acquisition.
• Manage and direct the organisation to deliver optimum profitability and sustainable growth, ensuring that sales and business plans are achieved.
• Provide a full understanding of market and customer requirements. Lead the development of new products, define market positioning, marketing mix, global pricing policies and communication concepts.
• Deliver continuous improvements to both products and manufacturing processes, ensuring that the company delivers competitive products that are compliant to both group and external quality guidelines.

Personal requirements:

• Prior General Management experience with full P&L responsibility, gained in a cross-border international business within the biomedical/life sciences sector.
• Hands-on experience of commercially driving an organisation focussed upon product development and R&D, from initial concept to market entry.
• Able to bring larger company process and structure. Provide strong leadership to this dynamic and growing business.
• Degree educated, ideally an MBA. Highly ambitious and with aspirations for further career development.
